Hipshot question

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm going to buy a bass soon (Ibanez 470) and my band plays a lot of songs in drop D, so I want to buy a hipshot for it. I don't want to waste too much of anyone's time, so I was wondering if the hipshot itself is the same as the tuning key on the bass, will it work? I'm not too familiar with these sort of things.

Hipshot's website lists all of their D-Tuners and what model tuners they can replace.

Yessir, IIRC, the "gotoh" style hipshot should work for you.

I've used Hipshot D-tuners on my 4 string basses since... 1988. They are *great*.

No harm, no foul.

Someone else will eventually have the same question. At least there is an answer now.
