hipshot tremolo bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
just got this fretless bass which came with the hipshot. first thing i noticed was the very low nut and the crazy string height towards the end of the fretboard.

i've noticed that the hipshot tremolo's string saddles are higher than my other saddles even at its lowest point. does anyone have any experience is somehow lowering this height? the part of the saddle which touches the strings is a detachable black piece of plastic. will i be able to sand it down? i don't really feel like shimming the neck so

If you've lowered the saddles as much as possible and the neck relief is right, you may have to shim the neck up a hair. It would be a good idea to call the guys at Hipshot first and see if they have any ideas.

Does the Hipshot have height adjustable studs that hold the trem in place? If so, you could also adjust some height down there.
