Hipshot A type bridge mystery

Sign in to disble this ad
I installed an A type bridge in my MIA P some time ago.

A type bass bridge

Obviously the front two screws in the saddle adjust saddle height. What is the 3rd screw for?!?

Correct. Loosening that particular set screw allows the bridge saddle insert to slide side-to-side. OCD compels me to keep mine dead center.

OCD doesn't compel you to centre the strings over the pickup poles? Just saying...

Youre assuming the pickups he uses have individual poles and that he knows their exact location.

After loosening the screw, I could move the insert side to side. It's an awesome feature! Using a digital caliper, I set mine dead center

I would if I could but I can't so I won't. 8 basses and no exposed polepieces. I guess I could center the A strings directly above the single position markers. Same holds true for the ABM's on my Cirrus 5 and Vinny 5.

However you look at it, it's an awesome bridge. I used the graphtech piezo version on my Barker and have on on a franken P I'm building. Like it a bunch.
