Hipshot Ultralite Tuners & Modulus Quantum 5

Has anyone changed the tuners on their Modulus Quantum 5-string to Hipshot Ultralites? I am looking to reduce the weight of my bass, and I'm thinking this may help. How much did you cut the weight of your bass by installing Ultralites? Which model of these tuners would I need to get if I decide to do this? Sorry if this has been covered before, but I did a search which didn't reveal anything. Thanks! I love the sound and feel of my Quantum, but the weight is a back killer!

On a side note, which Hipshot Ultralite tuner model would be a direct replacement for a Japanese Fender '62 reissue made around 1991?

You want 3/8" for your modulus, and 1/2" for your RI...They have a few different styles depending if you want a clover or Y key. I don't know how much weight you will save exactly, but I have a couple sets of hipshots and they are indeed super light.

I installed Hipshot 3/8"s on my Gen 5 and it did help the balance. Stock Modulus tuners are pretty much re-branded Gotoh GB-7's....same footprint, etc.

Somebody posted pics of his fender tuners on a scale and the hipshots on a scale. Saved about 1/2 lb on a 4 string.
