Thanks.
PS...after searching here and at the company websites and beyond, I can't find the info. |

However I find the upper end Ibanez hardware to be pretty good and I don't believe they are neck-heavy at all, so not sure if that's an "upgrade" I'd pursue on that instrument.

Most of them had Gotoh tuners. Right now I have three 6 string and a 4 string with them. I have a couple of others I want to put them on. They are great tuners and will cure the neck dive most of the time.

I've investigated and the Hipshots are 44g and the Gotoh GB350 is 40g. If I replace the stock tuners with the GB350, I lop-off 1/4 lb. from the headstock. With the lever, this probably will help. From my testing, I need 1 lb more on the body to balance the bass. Not sure if the 1/4 lb saving at the headstock with the lever calculates to the same as adding a pound to the body, but it's a good first try. |

| | | | So are the hipshot tuners not the only 'light weight' ones out there?

Do you think there is a difference between the different hipshots?( Clover leaf, lollipop, 'Y')?

The stock Ibanez tuners appear to be Gotoh GB7's. If they were installing the Res-o-lites as standard equipment, I'm sure they'd be making a big deal of it in the literature.
A standard paperclip weighs one gram IIRC.
