Hipshot ultralites:Which one will fit?

I've been running an errand for a friend of mine who's building a custom jazz bass,but there is a problem.H e wants to install hipshot ultralite tuners on his bass and since we i'll buy the mfor him throgh the internet i want to know which model will fit in the fender dimendions holes that his headstock has.On the hiphot webpage there are two models the HB6C - 1/2'' Clover Key Ultralite and the HB6C - 3/8'' Clover Key Ultralite.So which one will fit the 1/2 or the 3/8?

1/2" will fit the standard Fender Tuning gear holes.
