Hipshot Ultralites vs. Fender Lite Tuners?

Hi,
I have a Fender P with a neck dive issue. Not huge, but there. Which tuners would you install? Would this help enough? How about just a wider/grippier strap?

A search here revealed fondness for the Hipshot tuners, but does anyone have experience with the Fender lites? Looks like they are made by Schaller. Which are lighter?

I'm not familar with Fender Lites but I have Hipshots on all my basses and swear by them. They're durable, easy to configure from bass side to treble side, easy to install, and backed by great customer / tech support. You'll find them used / new on E-bay, TB, etc. as castoffs from projects that never leave the drafting table.

How much actual weight can you save for example I have a Geddy Lee with a little neck dive. Can four tuners make enough of a difference.
I have only had the Geddy one day but all the posts I have read suggest the tuners are not much good anyway and could probably do with changing.

I don't know exactly how much weight you can save but I have 2 MM Sterlings that had a little neck dive problem and since I installed the Hipshot Ultralites on them they become the most comfortable basses I ever played!
It made a huge difference.

Do the math. The weights are posted on Hipshot's page. Diff them and multiply by 4 or 5, and then, if you want, do the math on how much of a difference that will make at the end of the (would it be a) lever, or a fulcrum?

If Hipshot lists weight on their site, I can't find it.

I did find that birdsongguitars lists the weight of a set of 4 Ultralights (they use the "Y" style) as 5oz.
I don't know if that includes screws and bushings or not, and I also don't know how that relates to the cloverleaf style ultralights.

I weighed all 4 of the stock tuners off my Geddy, no screws or bushings, at about 15 oz! (3.8 oz each). Screws and bushings only add about another 1 oz.

That's a big difference, and I would expect that it would really help your problem... probably fix it completely, like Depalm said.

They are 57gr each for the Fender-style. The Y-style are 44gr each, so a bit of a difference.
So, for 4 Fender-style, that's 228gr - 8.04oz.
