Hobby bass question - can a P Bass neck fit in a Jazz bass body?

yep, title basically summs it up - I have a hobby Jazz bass I've fixed up, but was wondering if anybody knew if a P bass neck would fit into the slot on the body w/out major carpentery


the Jazz is a Mexican issue - I've owned it for at least 16 years and I bought it used - I was a rocket scientist and sanded off the model number at the top in a stroke of genius when I was refinishing the thing, so I'm not sure what year it is or if that even matters

No guarantees, but the two are generally interchangeable. It should work fine. If it's a bit too tight a fit it's easy to sand the neck to fit in, also.
