hey, im restoring a really badly damaged hofner 138, got it back to bass shape now, had some serious dents in it, also, some imbecile carved 'Precision Bass' into the headstock, how do i get rid of it and keep the hofner logo (headstock is sprayed black and lacquered)

any help appreciated

Are you able to sand down just the area where they carved the words in....staying away from the area that says Hofner?
If si, sand down to the bare wood and find some stainable wood filler. Stain black to match, and commit yourself to weeks of building the finish backup to match the rest of the headstock. Might consider letting a pro do it.

yeah, i can sand it down without touching the hofner logo. i got some stainable wood filler, its what i used to fill the body.
