Hofner Contemporary- Cracked Pearloid Tuner

I have a new Hofner Contemporary Series Bass. The plastic/Pearloid tuner peg cracked while tightening my E string today. I knew these felt flimsy when I bought it (a few weeks ago), but jeez! Anyway, does anyone know my options as to sourcing some better, but similar tuners? The original, German Hofner tuners are $120ish and North Coast Music says they don't fit properly anyway.
Has anyone tried to use the German ones?

Worst case, I could try to source a new plastic piece from Wilkinson (who makes the ones currently on my bass), but they're just so junky.

Of course I'll talk to my dealer too, but I'm not sure if they'll know what to do either. Keep me posted and I'll keep you posted!

Problem solved- Dealer refunded my money!

Reliable sources tell me that the "real" Hofner pearloid knobs fit perfectly onto the contemporary's tuner pegs- This may be of value to future owners of this bass.
