Hofner-Type Tuners

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all.
I recently added a Brice HBV "Beatle Bass" to my collection.
After a bit of work getting it set up, I'm pleased with this $250 axe. It plays really well and sounds decent with the D'Addario chromes.
Anyway, the problem I HAVE is that it is very neck heavy with the Gotoh copy tuners. Does anyone have a source for tuners similar to those used on the Hofners?
Thanks!
Glen

I also have a Brice and really like it. I use a strap thats wide at the shoulder, and dosen't slip. So neck dive is not a problem for me. Hofner tuners won't fit without modification on the holes. Some new tuner knobs might help but only a little. I'd get a really good strap that won't slide around on you.

Hofner is real good about making sure most of their German parts won't fit other similar basses. Even their own Icon and CT basses won't accept most of the the German parts without modification. It's not hard to understand why though.

I want to put some pearloid tuning knobs and some Hofner teacups on mine eventually. They should fit the Brice since they fit the CT basses. The stock knobs look the same.
