Hohner B2A Setup

Sign in to disble this ad
I acquired a Hohner B2A in a trade. Poor little guy was a mess so I did a setup and posted pics of parts here http://www.flickr.com/photos/mlamour...7606662475071/

Very easy to setup and tweak. Now that the tuner are solid and roll well I have proper intonation setup. Still trying to get a solid drop D.

Aside, since I couldn't find 105 ball end strings anywhere I decided to boil the strings that came on 'er. 20 min at full boil and they sound much better. No idea how long they'll last but better than nothing.

Nice pics. I've just bought a Hohner B2A. 'Neat' is how I would describe it but how are the intonation saddles adjusted?

Intonation is a pain because you have to loosen the little screw on the side of the bridge to free the saddles and if the strings are sticking then you have to de-tune a bit. It took a little playing around but once I got the intonation setup it was fine. That said I don't pound this little guy. He sits in my office and gets played though headphones via Amplitude.

Fun but not anywhere near what I would use for gigging.. my flat strung P-Bass is that bad boy
