Holding strap buttons

Hi all,

The straplocks in my P-bass become periodicly loose, until now I just tightened them when I noticed, sometimes sticking a toothpick in there just to make the joint even tighter.

My question is:

Is there an equivalent to the blue loctite you use with metal screws that can be used with wood? I mean some kind of adhesive that'll hold the screw in place but won't prevent me from removing it if needed.

Can I use simple glue or it'll rip some wood off when I try to unscrew it?

I would stick a toothpick of sliver of wood(similar to the body material)or two in, w/just a drop of glue. Screw the button back on after the glue has set up; if you're concerned about easy removal later on put a little bar soap or candle wax on the screw.
