| Hole in the Hohner neck plate?

I found an old hohner fretless to try the type out(and I'm rapidly becoming a convert). My question is: What is the hole in the neck plate with the hex bolt in it? My guess is it locks the rod adjustment in place? Nice forum ya got here by the way!
