Hot rodding a 1990 Ibanez EX

Sign in to disble this ad
I am seeking advice on upgrading a 1990 Ibanez EX Series. This is a highly metal oriented guitar and I play with ridiculously low action. This bass recently came into my possession with all stock hardware except for the bridge. For some reason someone at some point decided that a Leo Quan Bad Ass Bass II would make for a cute bridge. It's so ugly on this guitar it really sticks out.

I am seeking advice on some upgrades that I have researched and selected for this bass:

Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound P-Bass Pickup
Quarter Pound™ for P-BassŪ SPB-3 - Seymour Duncan Progressive

Seymour Duncan SJB3 Quarter Pound Jazz Bass Bridge Pickup
Quarter Pound for Jazz BassŪ SJB-3 - Seymour Duncan Progressive

Hipshot 4 string A style Bass Bridge
4 string A style Bass Bridge > Store > Hipshot Products

I am also looking at getting a Hipshot GB7 - this is a little lever installed on the headstock to quickly switch between standard tuning and drop d - does anyone have experience with these?
GB7 > Store > Hipshot Products

Any advice on electronics?

These are the upgrades I have in mind. Any thoughts? My biggest concern is my choice of bridge; remember, I play crazy low action on this thing. I play metal.

I know I am asking for a lot of advice, but I need to spend my money carefully hod-rodding this thing.
