Houston setups.

Who does a good setup in Houston these days? Not a fan of Ron Pace or Danny D's. I usually do my own but I just can't get my Carvin to feel right.

You need to see Neil Sargent, He is located near Washington Ave, east of/near Sheppard ... he's actually a Luther, he's been my go to guy for over 20 years, he's built several basses for me over the years... his number is 713-869-2588 .... you might have to wait a few weeks if he can't get to it right away .... best bet, is to call and see what his schedule is

Are you by chance in north hosuton? If so I may be able to help you do setup. Whats the main thing keeping the carvin from feeling right?

I work on the north side, the nut is going to have to be filed down, the action is just too high and stiff. Thats my main gripe.

I've had good luck with James at rockin robin. I've heard wonderful things about Neil S. for about the last 20 years, but have never personally used him.

Ok, nut work isnt something I can do well confidently. Though I'm good at personalizing action setup for truss rod, bridge saddles, shim for necks on bolt ons that need it, and such. Though I am kinda surprised you got a bass from carvin where nut wasnt filed right. Bummer.

Lone star guitars on College Ave, right off 45 near Hobby. He knows his stuff, his prices are fair, and he's quick.

That's Jim Fulton. He's back and forth between Lone Star and Rockin' Robin alot of the time.

I usually go to Neil, tho Jim's done a bit of my work.

Huey over at Fuller's is another option. All should be able to do the work.
