How big, really, is .5mm?

I want to put a Warwick Just A Nut III on a jazz neck. The nut width of the Jazz bass is (according to Fender's website) 38mm. The Just A Nut measures 38.5mm How big of a deal would that .5mm be? I don't want to spend that much money on a nut that ends up being useless.

It would stick out about 0.010", about 2.5 sheets of paper, on both sides.

Nothing stopping you from filing, sanding, or grinding to fit.

.5mm = about 1/64". If you run your fingers along the side of the neck you will feel it sticking out. Not an unreasonable amount, but I would probably sand/file it. Easy...
