I'm sitting here, with all the screws off my bass. this is the version with 2 humbuckers, and the wires go into a little box that sits below the control knobs that says "3 band E.Q." At first i thought "happy days, solderless!" but then when i tried to unclip the wires, i couldnt find anything to release them, and if i pull the wires, it just feels like im going to break them. i would appreciate your help here. thanks (Y)

Got pics?
Does the "box" have any tabs to open it up?

Soldering iron: there's a reason for that. Mark their position on the pots or what have you with a felt-tip pen using first letter of the color (G=green, etc).
