I have some schaller bm light tuners to install in a new warmth neck. Any advice on installing these? Make a template?

Tools needed:
Aluminum Rafter Angle Square
Automatic Center Punch
Drill
Drill bit that is the same diameter as the screw shank;

Put one in its hole; with the bushing in place, gently hold the tuner against bushing the direction of the length of the neck to seat the barrel on the bushing. Mark the wood at the top CENTRE of the plate with a pencil, just a dot, LIGHTLY, LIGHTLY LIGHTLY. You want a thin pencil lead that the tip is not sharp but rounded and smooth so as not to score the wood.

Repeat for all holes.

Lay the "lip" of the square on the flat edge of the head stock and mark a LIGHT perpendicular pencil line across the marks you made as a guide for the placement of the top of the plate. Drop tuner in, line it up and use center punch to mark the center of screw holes (you just put the point on the centre of the hole and push straight down, its spring loaded and will leave a small punch mark in the wood.)

Remove tuners and prepare drill bit. Take a screw and mark screw depth on drill bit with tape, double check that it's shallow enough for headstock. drill holes at slow speed until depth of tape is met. Install tuners lining up with pencil mark. The holes in the plate are bigger than the screw shanks so you can line up the tuners easily with the pencil line. Erase pencil lines with a damp cloth.
