How do you polish your Stingray tuners?

Mine are terrible looking, and feel sort of crusty. They just won't polish up like those on my other basses. Does anyone else have this problem? What should I try?

I have denatured Alcohol, for cleaning my strings, I also use it to clean my hardware, it works great

Thanks for the info! I'll have to get some denatured alcohol and give that a go. I especially like that you can clean strings with it too.

Today I gave up on guitar-specific products to clean/polish the SR tuners, and tried a different approach.

First I went over the tuners for about a minute apiece with one of these..

Then I immediately polished with these..

It worked quite well, but I'll still give the denatured alcohol a try.
