How to measure for side dots on a fretless neck? DONE !!

Sign in to disble this ad
Greetings and thanks to anyone who can help me.

I have [bravely] converted one of my Turner Renaissance 5 string fretless basses from 35" to 34 " by carefully cutting one inch off of the bottom of the neck.

I covered the lines on the fretboard with a brown thin Sharpie pen which worked suprisingly well.

I now want to install new side dots.

Did a search and found this :Convert your bass to short scale

How is this done?

Also, the bridge is not adjustable for intonation.

Exacting measurements?
Using a tuner?

Easy enough to get the the 12th fret line and relatively easy to get the other harmonics.

Never done this before.

Thanks

Just used a tuning machine and cut strips of adhesive lables.
