Unhappy How to Re-string a normal bass into a piccolo bass.

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello everyone, I'm new at this forum and I'm also glad to be a part of it.

This time I'm asking everyone for help , I just bought a new bass so I thought that my old bass could be re-strung as a piccolo, I read that Stu Hamm did that same thing to one he owns, so I figured it could be done to mine to haha.

So if anyone knows how to do so, if I have to change the bone, the neck, the bridge, everything, it is a 34" 4 string bass.

Any help would be great.

Thank's to everyone who posts any data.

Keep Bassin' haha

To be completely honest, aside from strings, I've never felt a need to make any replacements. My stock nut worked fine, but I made the adjustment as a temporary change. If you're looking for a permanent switch, I would recommend having a tech cut you a new nut. Bridge, neck, pickups will be fine.

Best of luck.

The only adjusting I found necessary was adjusting the action a tad.
