I am constantly breaking strings!

I keep breaking my G string. () I play slap bass, but I've had my new bass for a month and a half and I've had to change the G string 3 times already. I lowered the action when I got it and set the intonation but my friend said that has nothing to do with it. They always break near the bridge. What should I do?

You have something sharp there on the bridge that's essentially cutting them. Happens sometimes for people who play with picks.

You can either smooth possible edges where the string passes over the bridge yourself, or take it to a tech to do it. Not a major fix I'd think.

Yep, if your bridge is sharp it might be causing unneeded stress on the strings causing them to break.

Think of it like slowly using a file to the strings in a specific location over time.
