+1000!

If I wasn't a christian, this book would be my bible. Dan Erlewine's DVD's on guitar repair are fantastic too.

St. Erlewine's tombe has been my handbook for many years.

If everyone who reads this forum were to buy that book, the traffic on the site would drop to a trickle. Dan is an excellent teacher and continues to advance the craft through his research and networking.

I think that just the knowledge of setups, neck shapes, and cleaning helps a tremendous deal and makes the purchase well worth it.

Thumbs up

Yes great book.
It has saved me a lot of time and $.
His companion book, " How to make your electric guitar play great ", is also worth the small investment.

I didn't think so. It's like a small condensed version of Repair Guide with all the same tips and info and absolutely zero information on basses. It's all about guitars.

Hmm. I really should get one. I'll wait until the 3rd edition comes out in October.

The 3rd edition comes with a DVD. That's definitely worth waiting for.

There is very little difference mechanically between guitars and bass guitars. For all intents and purposes, the concepts are the same. The only difference is in some of the numbers.

Why should you be any different?

The tools can be amortized and depreciated.

The crack is only eliminated.
