| the height of the nut will vary depending on how the bass is setup. often the nut will be sanded, filed and shaped so that the height of the nut on the bass is not the height of a fresh nut. more important than the nut height is the string height at the nut. how high off of the fingerboard is the bottom of the string in each nut slot?
replacing a nut is easy if your handy and skilled. if you're not skilled, look into returning the bass or finding a good local shop who will replace your nut. |
