I need help

Sign in to disble this ad
I just received a bass that I bought a week or two ago on ebay. Its a Ventura hofner-styled bass. Everything about the bass was nice but when I plugged it in and moved around with it I got a terrible feedback noise and is I had just unplugged it and left the amp on. I used another cable and it doesnt do it as much but if you move the end of the input side of the cable it makes the same noise. With the second cable I was able to stand and play with out any noise except a slight pop if the input was touched. Its a hollowbody bass so I dont know how to get inside and look at it. Im buggin out so please help. Someone told me to pull the jack and to see if it was all connected right but the jack doesnt come out of the bass. I cant access the electronics cause its a hollowbody. Thanks

Pretty sure you can get to the jack if you first remove the control plate(with the knobs).

The cheap fix is to close the f-hole with tape or other material, to stop the sound from recycling back to the bass from the amp.

Hmm. What about removing the pickups? Any access that way?
Can you post a pic of the jack?
