I noticed something unique...

Me and my cousin were setting up a new olp music man(setting action, etc.) and we noticed that the input jack was a bout2 or 3 millimeters to ong to were a good connection wouldnt be made. It puzzled us until i then realized that it has happened before on other "cheaper" basses, like squiers, and epiphone. I wonder if they do this you you "have" to sed it off to get fixed? Has anyone else noticed this?

If you noticed it before two other times then how is it unique?

to fix it you can replace the input jack, or bend the metal slightly to fit the jack plug better.

But remember, the little kink at the end of the sockets "tongue" is not meant to fit into the groove around the neck of the jack plug, it's meant to be just above it.

+1...that way there is positive pressure from the jack on the plug...without it, the connect would be "intermittent"...

often cheap basses have cheap parts, replacing the jack with a switchcraft or neutrik is a sure-fire way of ensuring that your jack won't give you any of these types of problems.

Gentlemen

It is an output jack. The electricity flows from the guitar to the amp. It is undesirable to have electricity flowing in the opposite direction.

actually, electrons flow counter-current....by convention, current is measured in flow of positive charge, but electrons are negatively charges, so they flow against the "positive" current flow

besides, it's a current LOOP, meaning that the current is flowing in AND out equally...

finally, it would all depend on how much your bass.errr...SUCKS....LOL....

(you're right. it's an output jack)
