Bought costom bass guitar, and the neck was bowed. The action was really high so i tightened the neck as much as i can. It still wouldnt go straight. I untightened and tightened again while a friend of mine stood on it. Now the neck is bowed more. What should i do now? HELP PLEASE! |

If it is, and tightening nut didn't help, the nut might be bottomed out and is not providing enough tension. Try loosening the strings, removing the nut, and slip on 2 or 3 washers, reinstall nut and tighten. It wouldn't hurt to put a little oil or grease on the threads while you have the nut off. |

| | | | ic. Thank you for all the replys, the action is really high, and the bow on the neck is real visible. The truss is not going to turn anymore, and nothing seems to be working. it has a back bow. It makes a buzz sound when i play. |

| | | | Take it to a qualified repair person before more damage is done. |

That might be your problem. |

At any rate, I believe you may be in well over your head.....take it to a pro, as suggested in the post #9 above me!

Pix? | I thought too tight would cause buzzing at the 1st to 5th frets, whereas too lose causes buzzing above the 12th. Quote: |

| Yeah, take a pic so we can see what you are talking about.
