I would appreciate some help

My bass has two voulme controls like in here

can anyone explain me what they do(other than making the it sound louder)?

OP, you will note a difference in sound between each of the pickups. You can get a degree of tone control from favouring one pickup over the other.

Does anyone know how to remove the knobs on an Ignition bass? I want to replace them with the white type that I think look better. There's no grubscrew and I've pulled as hard as I dare so far without success. Any advice?

Zombie!

Take a towel and slide the edge under the skirt of the knob. Wrap the edge of towel around and under the entire knob. Gather towel all in one hand so it is holding the knob evenly from under and wont slip out. Pull up. It will pop right off
