Ibanez AGB200 setup/buzz

Sign in to disble this ad
Got this cool looking short scale, semi-hollow a couple of weeks ago. I have been trying, so far unsuccesfully, to set it up so the bottom E string doesn't buzz when fretted near the nut. OK I know Ibanez isn't the best in the world, and I have an AEB acoustic which is wonderful, but the only way I can get it to stop buzzing is to have so much relief on the neck that the truss rod is virtually loose, and then the action above 12th is way high. The only thing I would say is that the height of the nut cutaway for the E string seems high.
Next thing to try is some lighter weight halfround srtings, maybe the ENR71M or similar.
Anyone have any similar experiences or advice?
Thanks guys!
