Can anyone help: I am looking foor Velve Tune BII macine Heads for my Ibanez Musician MC924 bass
Are these the locking mini tuners? I've got a 1979 Musician with the lockers but I don't think I have ever seen them on anything else. I bet these were made by Gotoh but I don't have any evidence to support that other than their shape.

No, the MC 800 and 900 series basses had a weird in-between size tuner. One of mine stripped out and I was unable to find a replacement. I had to get a set of mini's (Gotoh's packaged up as Ibanez brand) and have a luthier that I knew dowel up the holes and re-drill them to fit the new tuners. This guy did a great job on my fretted MC940 back in the early 1980's. Not only did he work a miracle on my tuner problem, he also converted it to a fretless and dropped in a pair of Bartolini pickups! Although I mostly play my Ken Smith 5-string bass nowadays, I still have my hot rodded Musician Bass. I'll never get rid of it!
