Ibanez Roadstar tuning machines

I am in need of a replacement tuner for a 1983 Roadstar II bass, RB620. It has a 2 + 2 head stock. Anyone have any, or know of a source? Any idea of what aftermarket tuners will work? Thanks!

Bump

I too need to replace the tuners on my 83 Roadstar II. 26 years old and the seals have been shot for ten years and one of the posts just broke.

I have not been able to find any replacements with an 11/16" sleeve other then some Fender tuners.

I will dowell the holes and install a standard replacement if I really have to but would much rather keep to the thicker post.

Hipshot and Schaller make tuners for 11/16" holes. I don't know if thats what your after, I thought I would just put that out there.

Thanks J. I had looked at the Schallers but the headstock on my RB888 has a very small headstock and I don't think they would fit, or look good if they did.

I had over looked the Hipshot '1/2 open gear' mini tuners because I was trying to find a match with the Gotoh style closed gear tuners that came on the bass.

But now that I look at the Hipshot mini-tuners I do like them, and they have the same style of knob and they do come for they 11/16th peg hole.

The drawback is $22 X 4 to repair my main axe, not what I wanted to do this time of year. Especially since I just blew a small load on pickups and hardware for current builds.

I know how that goes, btw the schallers that Warmoth sells are for 11/16" holes and they are the smaller keys. But still around $20 each.

Thanks, thos do look like the would fit well and look nice.

Which are better built, the mini-Schallers or the mini-Hip Shots. The look very simlar in design.

I don't know which ones are built better. I'm going to use the Schaller on my current build, just because I drilled a 3/4" hole instead of a 11/16" (dumb of me) and the Schallers will cover the excess. The Hipshot's aren't wide enough.

How about these:

Third down.

I used them on a Roadstar II I had a while back which I bought with no tuners & they fitted perfectly - also good heavy pro set of tuners.
