Question Ibanez SR 300 Series truss rods: Do five strings have duals?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all, I've been eyeballing a 5 string in the SR300 family of Ibanez basses. I already own a 6 stringer that has two truss rods in it, and I've heard that some manufacturers put duals in 5 strings as well. Does anyone have a SR305 or similar who has taken the truss rod cover off and taken a look?

I'm mostly concerned from a weight perspective (I think the duals in my 6 contribute to neckdive amongst other factors), I play a low tension setup so I think duals would probably be overkill for a 5 stringer for me. Ibanez doesn't mention the rod count in any descriptions I've seen. Forum search didn't seem to come up with anything this specific...

I haven't owned a 305, but I have owned a 405, a couple of 505s, 535, 655PB, 755, 905, and an sr3005 - and none of them had dual trussrods, FWIW...
