Ibanez SR496 neck issue

Sign in to disble this ad
I got this bass 3 or 4 years ago around christmas time and it has served me great since then. Recently (since september or later) i have noticed that where the neck meets the headstock, on the B string side of the neck, the middle peice of wood has started to seperate itself from the rest and is protruding about a mm. This is like an inch or two long. Hopefully it wont grow but im wondering if this is something very serious, or if it will stay the same and will be functional without major neck repair/ replacement. Thanks for any advise.
