i bought a mighty mite neck to replace my standard jazz neck. i was under the impression that the swap is supposed to be easy, but there is a slight gap between the end of the neck and the end of the bass - like it doesn't quite fit or something. it's less than an eighth of an inch, like closer to a sixteenth. what do i do?

You'll save a lot of time if you post pix. You haven't included enough info to understand your prob.
