Inexpensive Black Replacement Bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
So I have a Squier VM J, and I love it, but I want to change the color scheme to black/natural. I am completely satisfied with the stock bridge, so I'm not looking for a quality upgrade, just an aesthetics change (from chrome to black.)

I found these two black bridges on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/BLACK-BASS-BRIDG...QQcmdZViewItem

And this one on "VirtualVillage"

Anyone ever use these, or have any input?

It really doesn't matter- just be sure the one you get will have mounting holes that match up with what you've got. The Virtual Village and the Vintage Ebay ones looks like they will work.
It's more money, but I suggest this one:

I have used both, because I think you are only looking at two different bridges. The ones from Virtual Village and Choppers look almost identical, clones of the Gotoh 201 (which I would not pay top dollar for at Warmoth BTW). The one from Guitar Fetish is your standard bent-L plate. The Gotoh 201 clone is a bit more high-mass, which some players claim gives you a slightly better tone and sustain, although it didn't work that way for me. I have just as good results with the simple bent-L. Both good choices IMHO. Make sure you get the right number of mounting holes.
