installation of bridge

hi everybody Im building a fender copy p bass. just buying parts on the net, I would like to know how you find the right spot to mount your bridge. the body has no holes drilled for a bridge . thank you wunderman.

With the saddles fully extended, iti should measure a tiny smidge under 17" from the crown of the 12th fret to the witness point of the saddle if you are using a 34 inch scale. 17 1/2" for 35 inch scale.
