If I had the dough for a monster cable, I'd go out and get a 15ft. one right now -- and not because of any sound quality boost, which may or may not be completely imperceptible. Their warranty and durability, as well as all the crazy shielding are the main draws for me. The shielding stuff is probably excessive, or even technical mumbo-jumbo, but it if helps, I'm NOT going to argue -- my main practice space is in close quarters to a computer with a 21" CRT monitor, 2 14" TV's, and a computer with no side panel. The only time I don't have hiss in either of my basses is with my fretless, when I have both pickups on full (JJ config). I get more interference than a receiver for the Cowboys in this room.

That said, I had two cables fail on me at the same time. Now that's just plain stupid, and as a result, I had to go out and buy another one (albeit a nice 20ft. Yorkville, so a nicer cable anyway). Downside? I need another cable before I can use my Digitech BP50 again!

I use the Planet Waves cable with the mute switch. Very useful if you switch instruments at all or unplug between sets etc.

Canare GS-6 cable hands down. Neutrik plugs hands down.
The hell with monster cable, they make enough money.

I have some called Road Hogs, they have a lifetime warranty and, so far(3 years), havent failed or crackled or anything yet.
