Intonating this type of bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently got an Eastwood Club bass (hofner knock-off) and I have no idea how to intonate a bass with this type of bridge. It has the same type of bridge as a violin (beatle) bass. Anyone have expereince in "Setup" of these style basses?

Yeah, you have to loosen the strings and move the saddles forward or back in the grooves in the bridge.

I dont think this is how you are decribing it is it? Looks pretty funky to me. This is from ebay, not my bass. Here is his explanation:

"Note: I've been asked about the position of the bridge in the picture. Fear not - it's a floating wooden bridge. I prefer fairly low action, and I put it in that position to set the intonation as much as possible. I have owned a couple of these Hofner copies, all with wooden bridges, and have had to do similar setups on all. Hope this helps."
