Intonation problem...

Hello......on my B and E string, the strings are as long as they can be, yet the fretted harmonic note is still sharp , compared to the open note.

What can I do now???

Move your bridge. If it's an ABM you can reverse the saddle and get a little more space.

So you're suggesting take off the strings and completely unscrew the bridge, and flip at around backwards?

Is this even possible on a warwicK?

Thanks

I've got a feeling that the problem may lie else where. I wouldn't go re fitting the bridge just yet. Unless of you course you got a dud warwick

Astute observation.

Given that the bridge is properly located the problem lies at the nut. The string is breaking somewhere in the middle of the slot rather than at the front edge, closest to the bridge. Sometimes it is a stringing issue. If there is too much down angle and a level slot the witness or break point can be on the headstock end of the nut. This effectively changes the scale length. The other possibility is that there is a hump in the slot. The remedy is to file the slot so that the bottom of the slot is true and there is some down angle to the headstock.

No, on the ABM bridge each "saddle" is in a little cradle thing with the "saddle" at the front half of it. You can flip the cradle thing around on the ABM to get more adjustability.

Instead of intonating using the harmonic, why not try intonating by fretting the actual note at the 12th fret? Just a suggestion. I'd hate for you to start ripping up your bass when the solution is simple and non-destructive.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Johnny

Just out of curiosity, can you measure the distance from the nut to the 12th fret and from the 12th fret to the bridge? Let us know what those measurements are.
