Intonation problems.

On my bass (Ibanez GSR190), I managed to fix the E and D strings' intonation, but not the A and G strings. When I try to tighten the screw to lengthen the string (the 12th fret is slightly sharp on both of them), it just twists the saddle and refuses to budge. This is especially quirky on the A string, as it's clear that the saddle has plenty of room to move back.

Is there anything I can do to fix this on my own? I don't really want to have to pay a luthier to fix it, since it's not *that* noticeable a problem and it's a cheap bass, anyway.

Remove the strings and lubricate the thread of the screw with some wd40 or something similar. Just be careful not to make a mess.

I agree with doctor j, but I would also remove the bridge(so's not to damage the body) and put it in a vise, sometimes they get frozen tight, and you dont want to strip out the screw head(phillips) cause then the only solution is cut the screw with nippers, put the saddle in a vice, and use locking pliers

Remove the tension on the string first by unwinding the string until it's floppy. Then adjust the saddles.
