Jack washer missing - what to do?

Sign in to disble this ad
Alright so I need my bass (a Musicman Ray) tomorrow for a session, and I discovered today that the washer for the input jack is blatantly missing. I take it that the damn thing fell off, but what's a quick fix that can get me through a session?

Has this happened to anyone else?

Where do you buy instruments? At the music store. This is, and always should be, your first resource. They usually have parts, too. If they don't, find a new store.

It's not unusual for a store to provide an inexpensive nut or washer for free.

Do you mean the locknut? Take your bass to a music store or repair shop, and get another. There's a couple of different threads, some are metric. I would say Radio Shack, but you usually have to know what you're looking for, explain to them what it is, politely decline the first three wrong responses...
