jazz bass control plate (stack knob kit)

Hey everyone,
I've been thinking of putting in stack knobs in my Lefty MIM Jazz bass, but i'm not sure about something.

I found a kit on guitarpartsresource.com, and it comes with a control plate to install the knobs. the thing is, i dont know if control plates are the same for Mexican and American Jazz Basses. I guess if i have to drill new holes to install the plate itself, it won't be too big of a problem, but i'd just like to know.

this is my bass by the way, with it's new thumbrest installed. (i figure pix always make threads more interesting )
