Jazz Bass pick guard.

I was thinking about replacing the white pick guard on my Squier Jazz for a black one I found on Musicians Friend (http://accessories.musiciansfriend.c...rd-?sku=361303). My only question is that on the specs from Fender the current white is a 1 ply and the black is a 3 ply. Would there be a major problem if I switched them out? i.e. strings hitting the guard, etc?

The ply is just how many layer are in it. 3-ply typically isn't thicker, at least not much thicker. It won't make a difference. Just check the number of screw holes. Fender makes pickguard with different number screw holes which would require drilling new holes, so be wary of that. Otherwise, you'll be fine.
