Jazz Neck On a '77 P-Bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm considering swapping the original neck on my '77/'76 P-bass with a jazz neck, and holding on to the original neck in case I want to swap back later. Does anyone have any thoughts on creating jazz/P hybrids? Any recommendations on the best source for a jazz neck? A few techs suggested ordering one from Warmoth, which seems like a pretty solid deal.

Buy a MIM jazz and mod it. Why risk damaging that (semi valuable) bass? You will have a couple hundred in a decent neck anyway.

How can you potentially damage the body of a bass by replacing the neck? I'd bring it to a top tech for the actual work...
