I have been waiting over 5 weeks for the job to be done, is
this normal ? How would you guys rate this job- is it a tough thing to do ?
I am trying to figure-out if I am being blown-off ?

I'll give it another week, if not I will get the needed tools and
do it myself. I am just upset with the shop, as they have had
my R6 LP on consignment since august and I decided to borrow it back this weekend for amp maintenance.
The guitar has not been wiped down, strings are completely shot, and the fretboard is/was so dry- 2 inlays have popped-up !
A simple phone call could have prevented this.
I simply having doubts on what to expect, let alone when to
expect

I just had him mod a Stingray(that he built for me) to accept jazz p'ups. The work was perfect, and it took longer to ship back/forth than it took him to do the work.. |

PC | If the inlays have popped up, it's not from a "dry fretboard," it's improper installation of the inlays. And some people like dead strings...mine never get changed...one set is 40 years old.
If no one wants the consignment at the price you listed, the solution is to lower the price. I'm not sure the music store has anything to be criticized about, other than the wait for the rout (not "route"). If they were backed up, they should have told you about it.

the reason - It should have been brought to my attention -
Not me finding out after the fact !
And there is a difference between "dead" strings and "Rusted"
strings !
