Well, if you paid someone to set in up and it isn't right - take it back for him to fix it.

Beyond that I would raise the saddles of the buzzing strings until they don't buzz. You can count the turns so you can put it back were it was.

String saddle. Whichever string(s) buzz, just raise that string's saddle bit by bit til it stops buzzing.

Saddle... next time check it before you leave the shop so that he can adjust it to your playing tastes.

Alternately, you could try playing with a lighter touch and see if that cleans it up. Maybe it was just set up for a softer style than you normally utilize.

I'm of the opinion that a little (and I mean a LITTLE) string buzz is part of the tone of a stingray.

Pull out or download the manual and read how to adjust the saddles. It could literally be a 5 minute fix. Check some videos on youtube and see how to do it. Do you have any Allen wrenches?

A lighter touch does clean it up!

Since you're just raising the saddles your intonation should be fine.

If a lighter touch does the trick, but you tend to be a bit more heavy-handed when you play, then raise the saddles slightly (1/4 - 1/2 turn of the height adjusting screws for the saddles of thr strings that buzz) and test it again. Repeat until it doesn't buzz.

Also, check your neck relief:

1) press down the low E string at both the first fret and the last fret, then check the gap at it around the 7th, 9th and 12th fret positions. It should be about thr thickness of a light-to-medium guitar pick, depending on how hard you play.

2) tighten the truss rod to reduce neck relief, loosen it to add neck relief. Make small adjustments to the rod (1/4 to 1/2 turn of the adjusting nut), allowing an hour or so for the neck to settle in, then check the relief again, and continue to adjust as needed.

Many buzz issues are due to too little relief in the neck. Because I play with what I'd term a "medium" touch, I can get away with about 1/32" (just under .8mm) relief. Some people need more, perhaps 1.5mm or so. Depends mostly on how hard you play, and a combination of left hand and right hand technique.

If your tech did a good job he or she set the saddle heights to match the fingerboard radius. To preserve this, if you raise the saddles, raise all of them the same amount(count the turns). Try one full turn on each screw-that will make a surprising amount of difference.

Learn to do it yourself. It's ridiculous to pay for set ups. It ain't quantum physics. If you can turn a screwdriver you can set up a guitar.

Sorry to say, but a proper set up shouldn't buzz at all no matter the touch. Now, if you hammer the strings when you play, it's not the set up it's the player. If you play normally and not "digging in" on every note, then it's the set up.

yeah, Stingrays will have a little fretbuzz that you ONLY hear when playing unplugged, but if it comes thru when amplified then it needs adjusted.

Most likely, but maybe it won't be too far out.
