K5 Replacement Bridge

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all...even though I've been a member for quite some time, I haven't really posted anything...just been reading...anyway...that's not the point...I've been saving up some cash recently in hopes for getting a new sturdier bridge for my Ibanez K5...I love the bass to death, but the bridge is admittedly rather flimsy and I want a new one...it somehow lost 2 of those little height adjuster thingy's at some point...I don't know how that happened...but anyway...My real point is that I'm looking for a real sturdy barrel-type bridge that has a 16.5 mm string spacing...so far everything I've looked up for is larger than that...much to my dissappointment...I was wondering if anyone out there might know of one that I missed...either that...or I'll just end up getting that ABM locking bridge that I've been eyeing...since it's adjustable...and it locks...which seems like a nice idea...so any comments on that bridge would be nice as well...I'm looking for a barrel type bridge though because I've heard that those types of bridges are good for slap (which I enjoy)...but then again...I've also heard that the sound difference is very minute...but I guess it would put my mind at ease knowing that the sound is just a tad bit better for my kind of style...anyway...I ramble on too much...and sorry if the 3 period thing is annoying...it's a rather bad habit I've had as long for as I can remember...

A hipshot A bridge is a great option. They are pricey, though!

You REALLY won't need locking with a hipshot, I am sure.

Still willing to hear other suggestions...up until the point that I do finally get whatever bridge it may end up being (good place to stop)...
