you'll have to have the neck reinforced.

NO! You will not, thats just not true. Your neck will be fine.

You can keep the brass nut, but a graphite, or derlin(slipstone, to stewmac) would be better, for holding tune, the strings are less likely to snag on the nut this way.
Also of note, the lighter the strings you use, the more the the range on the pulls, I use Thomastic Jazz rounds on one, and they have a very high range.
The strings will stay in tune well, once you break them in. Breaking them in is easy though, just use the bar quiet a bit after installing new strings, and keep retuning every now and then, they'll hold pitch in no time.

Hipshots are supposed to be very good, but I have no experience with them. Also if you go with Kahler, make sure to get the rear facing saddles, that bass dosn't seem to have a great amount of room behind the bridge.

Edit: Looking again, if you go with Hipshot, the bass will look closer to stock, the bridge seems to be a similar style to Hipshot.

I don't think it will fit the Cort Curbow well.

ive heard of trouble with the strings falling off the rollers on the bridge, if theres a system similar to floyd roses guitar tremolos, that would solve it.

I have never had that happen.

Just my two cents worth; if you haven't bought the bridge yet, don't. If you have bought it, send it back.

You have a nice bass, learn how to get the tone / pitch out of it with your hands. (Pre-bend & release!)

If you just have to have a bass with a tremolo buy a cheap bass and have it installed. It should sell well on E-bay if you discover you don't like it & you can keep your old favorite.

I had a Kahler Hybrid installed on a Fender Jag. Installation cost me 215 dollars at my local music shop, they did a great job...all they have to route out is a box underneath the bridge section just deep enough to give the rotating part clearance to move.

I love mine. Its loads of fun, and when people see a whammy on a bass it blows their minds.

The problem with Hipshot trems is you have to rout out a lot of the wood on the back to make rooms for the springs.

The Kahler system is perfect for basses because it requires minimal wood removal which keeps the mass of the instrument intact for the most part.

Plus that the most of the bridge is hard bolted to the bass, no floating.

Can you pre-bend a harmonic half an octave?

How about a chord?

An open note?

All i know is that is pretty expensive, you will have to ask your local shop about what they charge, I bought my bass second hand with a tremolo already installed. I remember looking for prices before hand and seeing $400 for a new one!

$220 from here, http://www.wammiworld.com/u7410.html

As for squeals, yes you can, but nowhere near as extreme as a guitar.
