IDK, I tried two pair of Schaller's and they don't work. The button on the guitar seems a tad too big maybe. I'll have to try and see if my Ernie Ball's work.

All my Laklands (US and Skyline) have Dunlops, and I don't recall changing them at all. I believe they use the Dunlop Dual-Design button so it works with either a regular strap hole, or with Dunlop straplocks.

The Schallers don't work on Dunlop straplocks- a completely different locking mechanism.

and each one is a complete system (like either manufacturer wants their stuff to be compatible with the other - LOL). Having replaced a lot of strap buttons with Schallers, I've found pretty universally that the Schaller buttons won't work with anyone else's screws (screw head too big to fit into the top of the Schaller button). And that the Schaller screws are slimmer than the original screws, requiring some dowling to get a secure fit. I prefer the Schaller design, but retrofitting them is a bit of a pain.

thanks. I know that I'll need to replace the pins/heads if I want them to fit schallers. The question I was trying to ask was what is the factory strap button type on a 55-02?

Not sure of the maker, but just a pretty standard strap button comes from the factory on the Skylines.

I like the Dunlop Dual Design system. The screws are a little longer, so they really bite. Will take a little torque at the end to get them tightened all the way down. Just keep checking the button to see when it is tight so you don't go too far.
